Song Sancai (宋三彩) is undeniably an underestimated category of ceramics whose aesthetic value and historical significance will inevitably experience a revival. At such modest prices, one would likely return empty-handed when attempting to acquire comparable pieces of Longquan ware (龍泉窯). Yet, this modest investment currently affords access to this remarkable pair of plates. While dealers may show limited interest at these price levels, it presents an exceptionally appealing opportunity for discerning collectors.

Should more sophisticated collectors begin to engage with Song Sancai, this important genre will surely regain the recognition and market value it rightfully deserves.
