The heirloom Jianzan is still in great demand and the market has not waned in its enthusiasm. Although the size, hare's fur color and shape of this tea bowl are not the most ideal, its clear provenance and heirloom color and light still attract serious tea drinkers and collectors.

A JIAN 'HARE'S FUR' TEA BOWL

CHINA, SONG DYNASTY, 12TH-13TH CENTURY

The packaging is typical of Japanese production, but its age is relatively recent, and should have been ordered in Japan at a later date by the collector or the consigner. The quality of the tea bowl is the typical teabowls of the Karamono, which is the holy relic of the tea ceremony.

In the tea ceremony, all the specifications are standardized, and once dealers or seller removes part of the packages, it's obvious to the trained eyes. Wannabe dealers who disguised as 'collector' appears among Chinese buyers, especially in the Song or earlier pieces, there they treated as investment.

The foot feels very natural, but the clay body is rather loose and the color is yellowish. The tea slips are very flat and the overall quality should be around 80-85 points, which is still a good price at 1.28 million dollars! Congratulations to the buyer.
