紋樣呈放射狀，裝飾白色連珠紋。藍綠褐三色加白釉，唐三彩中罕見的藍色的採用，讓這件蓋合大放異彩。
The design radiates outward in a sunburst pattern and is adorned with white beaded motifs. Glazed in a combination of blue, green, and amber with the addition of white, the rare use of blue among Tang sancai wares makes this lidded vessel particularly striking and distinguished.

薩繆爾・T・彼得斯（Samuel T. Peters）
薩繆爾・T・彼得斯（Samuel Thomas Peters, 1854–1921）是20世紀初美國最具影響力的東方藝術收藏家之一。
他活躍於紐約藝術圈，擁有極具品味與深度的中國與日本陶瓷收藏。彼得斯不僅是收藏家，更是策展與學術活動中的積極參與者，他的觀點對於美國博物館界認識東方藝術起到了關鍵作用。
值得一提的是，1916年紐約大都會藝術博物館東方部成立，策劃舉辦首屆大型「東方陶瓷展覽」，彼得斯與著名藏家的查爾斯・朗・弗利爾（Charles Lang Freer）等其他幾位藏家聯手，合力策劃組織了第一次大都會博物館東方陶瓷展覽。
彼得斯去世後，其遺孀陸續將部分藏品捐贈給大都會藝術博物館，成為該館早期中國陶瓷館藏的基礎之一，其中便包括本件唐三彩蓋盒。
