Round ceramic box with a dark, speckled pattern sits on a textured beige surface. The box has hints of green and brown colors.

The plum blossom motif rendered in cobalt blue glaze, commonly seen on Tang dynasty Wannian jars (a distinctive vessel form of the period), predominantly appears in green glaze variants. Such blue-glazed boxes represent exceptional rarities, as the cobalt pigment used for creating the blue glaze was more valuable than gold during the Tang era. These luxurious objects were almost exclusively reserved for the imperial household and highest nobility.
